My Approach to Therapy

Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

Therapy with me is collaborative, integrative, and rooted in real relationship. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. I believe in curiosity, pacing, and honoring the complexity of your lived experience.

We start with your story—not your symptoms. From there, we explore what you’re carrying, what you’re protecting, and what you’re ready to shift. This work can look like practical tools and stabilizing strategies—or like deep, exploratory sessions that touch old wounds, cultural roots, and parts of you that haven’t had space to speak.

My Clinical Philosophy

I take a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to therapy. That means I look at the systems and survival strategies that have shaped you—not just your thoughts or behaviors.

Maybe you’ve learned to intellectualize everything to stay safe. Maybe emotions feel too overwhelming or too far away. Maybe you feel like you're “too much,” or not enough, or both at the same time. Together, we get curious. We notice, name, and gently disrupt the patterns keeping you stuck.

Sometimes we start with coping tools and nervous system regulation. Sometimes we go straight into meaning-making, grief, identity, or intergenerational trauma. It all depends on where you are—and where you want to go.

The Tools I Use (and Why)

I’m an integrative therapist, meaning I pull from multiple modalities to match your unique needs. You don’t need to know these names—but if you’re curious, here’s what informs my work:

  • CBT – To help you track thoughts and gently challenge what no longer serves

  • IFS – To explore the internal parts of you that are working hard to keep you safe

  • ACT – To build flexibility and move in alignment with your values

  • DBT – For emotional regulation and relationship skills

  • Narrative Therapy – To rewrite the stories that have shaped how you see yourself

  • Somatic Practices – Because the body holds what the mind can’t always express

  • EMDR – For processing trauma in a non-linear, non-verbal way

  • ERP – Specifically for OCD and anxiety that rely on avoidance or compulsions

These are tools, not rigid paths. We use what works, shift when needed, and always stay in collaboration.

Short-Term, Long-Term, & Everything In Between

Some people come to therapy with a clear goal: “Help me stop spiraling.” Others come with a vague sense that something isn’t working anymore.

I work with both. We can focus on immediate strategies, or explore long-standing patterns and deeper healing. Often, we do both—starting with relief and stability, then working toward transformation.

More Than Just a Therapist

I’m also someone who’s deeply invested in the field of mental health. I stay active in clinical trainings, trauma work, and community-based mental wellness—and I’m building offerings that expand beyond traditional therapy. Whether it’s processing groups, workshops, or resources for other clinicians, I believe in sharing what heals.

Meet Your Therapist

When I’m not in therapy sessions, you can find me unwinding with some video games, going to music concerts, hanging out with my dog and two cats (who might even make an appearance during our time together), or getting lost in a good book. I also love traveling and trying out new foods—it's one of the best ways to experience different cultures and embrace new adventures.

Motivation comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.
